warming up

Today, I spent lots of time on the phone finding various repair people and seeking advice from those who know how to fix the sundry things that are broken in our house. We are pretty sure the back hose in the washer had become loose (the dog hid there during the tornadoes that came through here a week and a half ago, despite us trying to pull her out--which probably caused it to loosen, and then eventually break), but when I tried to tighten it I only partly stopped the flow. Someone is coming to look at it, but he assures me he is quite sure he knows what the problem is and that it can be fixed quickly. Let's hope so--he's getting paid by the hour ;). I thought Maytags never need the services of repair people?!?

We managed to fix the furnace ourselves (praise God)...the ignitor burned out, and so we had to buy a new one and plug it back in. It felt so warm in the house after we did that, we had to open a window. LOL Now it's just right.

fixing things is a very unglamorous way to spend money, isn't it? LOL
