Daughter's comment on Large Families
My daughter was reading over my shoulder and saw a recent post where I used the phrase "large families". She said,
BUT MOM, we aren't a large family! We ONLY have five kids!
My kids all think the same thing, we only have five! Actually, I don't even think about how big we seem to others until we are out in public or at a family gathering where we instantly double the head count, lol.
As a matter of fact, the other night we were all sitting around the living room playing cards, and I kept thinking, 'Aren't we missing someone?' even though we were all there!
I just recently met a mother of one of my daughter's school friends. She was driving a mini van with four kids in it. I asked her if she had four children, to which she laughed. "No," she replied, "I have 12."
