I'm not sure why but my cats always seem to be headed for higher ground at whatever chance they get....lately, we've noticed that Ginger-kitty's favorite perch is one of the posts in the staircase, which has an approximate 1 floor drop below her (she is also often walking up and down the banister)!. Today I snapped this picture of her, just as she was getting up from an apparent nap:
As I trotted back to the dining room to help a frustrated fifth-grader with her math, I noticed that the momma cat (aka "Nefertiti") was likewise perched on a pedestal. This time, she was on a stack of Ninth Grade Textbooks, atop the dining table.
